The problem with anti-establishment, anti-war, anti-capitalism, anti-AMERICA sentiment is that we have to be careful how much we blame on the hegemony. We are a large part of the problem. We make it so easy to be controlled and manipulated. We don’t exercise agency, we don’t think, we’re paralyzed. The hegemony doesn’t tell us to go out and buy the latest fashions and hottest gadgets. Yes, they bomb us with advertisements and subliminal messages but at the end of the day, we are making the choices. Albeit in a very limited and controlled environment but for the things we can control, we are part of the blamed.
